ROUTE 971 IN AUGUSTA COUNTY CLOSED APRIL 18

STAUNTON – Route 971 (Lipscomb Road) in Augusta County is scheduled to be closed to through traffic from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, for repairs to a Norfolk-Southern railway crossing. This closure is between Route 624 (Lyndhurst Road) and Route 970 (Hall School Road). All work is weather permitting.

Motorists will have access to homes and businesses on either side of the work zone. Signs will guide through traffic on the following detours:

  • Southbound traffic will follow Route 970 east, Route 632 (Shalom Road) south, and then Route 664/624 (Lyndhurst Road) west to return to Route 971.
  • Northbound traffic will follow Route 624/664 east, Route 632 north and then Route 970 west to return to Route 971.
