TRAFFIC ALERT: SECTION OF PENN FOREST BOULEVARD IN ROANOKE COUNTY TO BE CLOSED ON WEEKDAYS

SALEM – Starting on Monday, March 14, a short section of Route 687 (Penn Forest Boulevard) in Roanoke County will be closed on weekdays to through traffic due to road work to remove trees and improve drainage.

Penn Forest Boulevard will be closed between Route 800 (Chaparral Drive) and Route 795 (Bernard Drive) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for approximately four to six weeks.

Drivers will need to use alternate routes such as Chaparral Drive or Route 904 (Starkey Road) around the closure. Motorists can still access the businesses along Penn Forest Boulevard by entering from Chaparral Drive, Starkey Road and Bernard Drive.

Message boards are currently in place to alert drivers to the upcoming closure.
