TRAFFIC ALERT: LANE CLOSURES AND SLOW ROLLS SCHEDULED NEXT WEEK AT INTERSTATE 81’s EXIT 105 IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY
SALEM - As part of the ongoing New River Bridge project at exit 105 on I-81, alternating lane closures and slow rolls will be in place next week, weather permitting.
Beginning Monday evening, March 9 through Friday morning, March 13, there will be alternating lane closures on 1-81 southbound between mile marker 104 to 106 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
On Thursday, March 13, up to three slow roll operations will be utilized on I-81 northbound between mile marker 101 and 105, and southbound between mile marker 109 and 105, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
As part of the construction, the speed limit remains reduced to 60 mph in the work zone and the northbound on-ramp at exit 105 remains closed with a detour in place for access to I-81. The northbound off-ramp is using the newly built overpass bridge on Route 232 while the detour is in place.
Drivers should plan accordingly and expect delays in the area.
