TRAFFIC ALERT: EXTENDED LEFT LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED THIS WEEK ON NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND ROUTE 220 IN ROANOKE COUNTY
SALEM – As part of the work to replace the existing bridge over Back Creek, bridge deck pours will be performed this week and next week requiring extended left lane closures in both directions of Route 220 near the intersection of Route 657 (Crowell Gap Road and Winter Drive) in Roanoke County.
On Wednesday, November 4 at 5 a.m. through Thursday, November 5 at 5 p.m., the northbound and southbound left lane will be closed for a 36-hour period or until the pavement cures for a bridge deck pour.
In addition, another bridge deck pour will close the northbound left lane for a 36-hour period from Monday, November 9 at 5 a.m. through Tuesday, November 10 at 5 p.m. or until the pavement cures.
Drivers should expect delays, especially during peak hours, and allow for extra travel time or plan travel accordingly.
