VDOT TO HOLD “PARDON OUR DUST” MEETING ON ASHCAKE ROAD (ROUTE 657) OVER I-95 BRIDGE REHABILITATION PROJECT IN HANOVER
Project will extend the lifetime of the bridge
SOUTH CHESTERFIELD, Va. — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will host a “pardon our dust” meeting on an upcoming bridge rehabilitation project on Ashcake Road (Route 657) over I-95 in Hanover County.
Beginning fall 2022, Ashcake Road (Route 657) will be closed until the project completion in late fall 2023 with a detour in place. Drivers on I-95 can expect nightly single and double lane closures in both directions throughout the duration of the project. Limited full detours of I-95 are anticipated between midnight and 4 a.m. for critical bridge activities.
The public can stop by between 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, August 4 at VDOT Ashland Residency, located at 523 N. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005. The meeting will be an open house format, which will provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to learn more about the upcoming work.
Anyone requiring special assistance to attend and participate in this informational meeting may contact VDOT’s Civil Rights Division at 804-524-6091 or TDD/TTY 711.
Questions about the project can be addressed to Brian Ramsey, P.E., area construction engineer, at Brian.Ramsey@VDOT.Virginia.gov or 804-585-3579.
