VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED THROUGH TRUCK RESTRICTIONS FOR FIVE HANOVER COUNTY ROUTES
Public invited to learn more and comment at December 2 meeting

SOUTH CHESTERFIELD— The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public hearing on proposed through truck restrictions of routes in Hanover County. The primary purpose of the meeting is to review the through truck restrictions process, discuss schedule, highlight current recommendations and receive feedback from citizens and stakeholders. 

A list of the potentially affected routes are listed as follows:

  • Ashcake Road
  • Atlee Road
  • Atlee Station Road
  • New Ashcake Road
  • Peaks Road

The meeting will be held in a presentation format on Thursday, December 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hanover County Administration Building, located at 7516 County Complex Road, Hanover, VA 23069. There will be two identical presentations, from 5:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and from 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Comments will be heard from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., and from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Two (2) minutes will be allotted for each citizen comment.

Comments about the proposed restrictions may be submitted at the meeting or until December 16 by mailing them to Phillip Frazer, Ashland Assistant Resident Engineer, Virginia Department of Transportation, 523 N. Washington Highway, Ashland Va., 23005. Comments can also be emailed to phillip.frazer@vdot.virginia.gov. Please reference “Through Truck Restrictions in Hanover” in the subject line.
