VDOT SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON PROPOSED ROUTE 60 (MIDLOTHIAN TURNPIKE) RCUT IMPROVEMENT IN CHESTERFIELD

https://www.virginiadot.org/Route60ChesterfieldRCUT

SOUTH CHESTERFIELD—A virtual public information meeting for the proposed construction of a restricted crossing U-Turn (RCUT) on Midlothian Turnpike at Woolridge Road/Old Buckingham Road in Chesterfield County will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021. An online presentation will begin at 5 p.m.

The purpose of the approximately $13.2 million project is to construct an RCUT at the intersection to improve safety. RCUT intersections reduce conflict points where vehicles cross paths and allow drivers to experience shorter wait times and safer turning movements. More information on RCUT intersections can be found on VDOT’s Innovative Intersections and Interchanges page.

During construction, flaggers will assist motorists and maintain traffic as required. Long-term detours are not anticipated during construction, and access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times.

Participants may submit questions through the chat feature during the presentation and VDOT staff will attempt to provide answers immediately or will follow up should additional information be needed. Comments may be submitted through May 9 by completing the online survey or printable comment sheet. The printed survey and/or other comments may be submitted by email to William.Wheeler@VDOT.Virginia.gov or by mail to William Wheeler, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, South Chesterfield VA 23834.

To access the meeting, visit the meeting web page on VDOT’s website at https://www.virginiadot.org/projects/richmond/chesterfield-route_60_midlothian_turnpike_rcut_installation_virtual_information_meeting.asp. All materials normally available during in-person public hearings are available on this site. The recorded presentation will be available on the project website during the comment period.

In the event of equipment or other unforeseen issues, the meeting backup date will be Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5-7 p.m.
