COURTHOUSE ROAD (ROUTE 155) SHARED USE PATH NOW COMPLETE IN CHARLES CITY
The completed path creates added cyclist and pedestrian accommodations
SOUTH CHESTERFIELD — On Monday, August 31, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) completed a shared use path project on Courthouse Road (Route 155) in Charles City County.
The $1.9 million project resulted in a multiuse path for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles on the westbound side of Courthouse Road connecting to the existing Virginia Capital Trail that runs parallel to John Tyler Memorial Highway (Route 5). The shared use path extends from Route 5 to Charles City County High School.
Construction began in March 2020 and was completed on schedule and under budget. For more information about the completed project and additional photos, visit http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/richmond/shared_use_path_in_charles_city.asp.
