VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING ON UNSIGNALIZED INTERSECTION UPGRADES IN THE RICHMOND DISTRICT
Public invited to learn more about the proposed upgrades on August 22

An example (constructed in Fairfax County) of the treatments proposed at select intersections in Richmond District.

SOUTH CHESTERFIELD—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public hearing on proposed unsignalized intersection upgrades at multiple study locations in the VDOT Richmond District. Proposed improvements at four intersections – Ashcake Rd. at Greenwood Church Rd. (Hanover County), Otterdale Rd. at Harpers Mill Pkwy. (Chesterfield County), Otterdale Rd. at Hampton Park Dr. (Chesterfield County), and Bailey Bridge Rd./Springford Pkwy. at Spring Run Rd. (Chesterfield County) – include using bolt-down, prefabricated units and pavement markings to allow the intersections to operate as roundabouts.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, August 22 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Winterpock Elementary School, located at 9000 Elementary Way Loop, Chesterfield, VA 23832. This meeting will provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to give VDOT input on the project.

Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the meeting or until September 1 by mailing them to Adam Brooks, project manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, Colonial Heights, VA 23834-9002. Comments can also be emailed to adam.brooks@vdot.virginia.gov. Please reference “unsignalized intersection upgrades” in the subject line.
