Nightly Ramp Closure from Georgetown Pike to I-495 South in McLean Starting Thursday, Oct. 26 Through Weekend
Motorists should follow posted detour
FAIRFAX, VA – The ramp from Georgetown Pike to I-495 South in McLean will be closed during nighttime hours for drainage work starting on or about Thursday night, Oct. 26 at 11 p.m. and continuing nightly through the weekend. This ramp closure will affect drivers traveling east- and westbound on Georgetown Pike headed for southbound I-495. Drivers should follow the signed detour, and plan extra time if traveling in this area.
The ramp is scheduled to be closed during the following hours:
- Thursday, Oct. 26, 11 p.m. until Friday, Oct. 27, 4 a.m.
- Friday, Oct. 27, 10 p.m. until Saturday, Oct. 28, 5 a.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 28, 10 p.m. until Sunday, Oct. 29, 6 a.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 29, 11 p.m. until Monday, Oct. 30, 4 a.m.
Motorists should use the following posted detour:
- Georgetown Pike to Balls Hill Road
- Take southbound Balls Hill Road to left onto Old Dominion Drive
- Take Old Dominion Drive to right onto southbound Rt. 123
- Take southbound Rt. 123 to the on-ramp to southbound I-495
Drivers are urged to use caution and expect potential delays if traveling through this area. All work is weather dependent, and may be rescheduled if necessary.
