Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges October 28-November 5 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Sunday, October 30, through Thursday, November 3
Ramp from Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) to I-66 East
Ramp closure is planned on multiple nights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 West, exit to Route 29 North, turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, then stay to the right to I-66 East.
Sunday, October 30, through Friday night, November 4
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
Ramp closure is planned nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday for paving and striping. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29 North or South. Note: This closure will not be implemented when the detour conflicts with other closures.

Ramps from Route 29 North and South Centreville to I-66 East
Ramp closure is planned on multiple nights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for paving. Route 29 South traffic will be directed farther south to Stone Road, make a U-turn onto Route 29 North, exit to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East. Route 29 North traffic will be directed farther north to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East. Note: This closure will not be implemented on nights when the detour conflicts with other closures.
Sunday, October 30, through Saturday, November 5
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
Ramp closure is planned on multiple nights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North.
Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road
Ramp closure is planned on multiple nights 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North, then follow signs to the Braddock Road/Walney Road left exit.
Sunday, October 30, through Saturday, November 5
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West
Ramp closure is planned on multiple nights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, exit to Route 29 South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving and a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay right to Route 28 North, then follow signs for I-66 East.
Sunday, October 30, through Friday, November 4
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights, and from 9:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday night for overhead bridge work and noise wall work. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.
Friday, October 28, through Saturday, November 5
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 South
The ramp will be closed Friday night starting at 10 p.m. through 6 p.m. Saturday, then nightly Sunday through Friday nights from 8 p.m. through noon for paving and striping. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 North, then follow signs to Route 28 South.
Friday, October 28, through Sunday, October 30
Ramp from Route 286 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. each night, and Sunday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be directed further south to exit to I-66 East, exit to Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
Ramp from Route 286 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed Friday and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. each night, and Sunday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be directed exit prior to the closure to I-66 East, exit to Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.

Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road onto Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.

Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right for Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West. Note: This closure will not be implemented on nights when the detour conflicts with other closures.

Ramps from I-66 East to Route 50 East and West
The ramps will be closed on multiple nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday for paving. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 123 North, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 50 East or West. Note: This closure will not be implemented on nights when the detour conflicts with other closures.

Ramp from I-66 West to Route 50 West
Ramp closure is planned on multiple nights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) South, stay to the right to I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 50 East or West. Note: This closure will not be implemented on nights when the detour conflicts with other closures.
Friday, October 28, through Monday, October 31
Ramp from I-66 East to Nutley Street North
The ramp will be closed continuously from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for ramp construction. Traffic will be directed to stay to the right and exit prior to the closure to the Vienna Metrorail Station South/Saintsbury Drive ramp, turn right onto Vaden Drive, turn right onto Virginia Center Boulevard, then at the traffic signal turn left onto northbound Nutley Street.

Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured to I-495 North, travel to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, then stay to the right to I-495 South. Note: This closure will not be implemented on nights when the detour conflicts with other closures.

Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Sunday, October 30, through Saturday, November 5
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal onto Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.

Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to I-495 South, exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.
