FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Monday, May 2, through Friday, May 6
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North   
The ramp will be closed Monday through Wednesday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Thursday and Friday nights from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.

Monday night, May 2 and Tuesday night, May 3
Ramp from Route 50 West to Fair Oaks Mall
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continuefarther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then turn right at one of the two entrances to the Fair Oaks Mall property.

Tuesday night, May 3, through Friday night, May 6
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North
The ramp will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work and a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 50 West, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 286 North. 

Thursday night, May 5 and Friday night, May 6
Ramp from Route 286 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. both nights for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, travel to Route 50 West, then stay to the right to I-66 West.  

Friday night, May 6
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East. 

Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Thursday, May 5, through Saturday, May 7
Ramp from Route 29 South (Lee Highway) Centreville to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed Thursday from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., and Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving and a traffic shift. Drivers on Route 29 South heading to Route 28 North and/or I-66 East will be detoured farther south, stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East. Those heading to Route 28 North will then follow signs to Route 28 North.
