Overnight Lane Closures on I-66 East in Centreville Next Week, June 8-10, for Overhead Bridge Beam Installation

FAIRFAX – I-66 East approaching Stringfellow Road in Centreville will be reduced to a single travel lane during the overnight hours next week, Wednesday, June 8, through Friday, June 10, for continued bridge beam installation for a ramp from the future I-66 Express Lanes to the eastbound I-66 general-purpose lanes and exit to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway). Traffic will be directed into one lane and diverted behind barrier onto new roadway these nights. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Drivers traveling on I-66 East during this time should expect delays and consider using alternate routes.  

Details include:

Wednesday, June 8, through Friday, June 10
I-66 East from east of Route 28 to Stringfellow Road

  • I-66 East will be reduced to a single travel lane Wednesday and Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Friday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • All eastbound traffic will travel in a single lane and be directed behind barrier onto new roadway.
  • All lanes on I-66 East will reopen by 5 a.m. weekdays, and by 6 a.m. Saturday. 

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
