Old Waterford Road Weekday Closures in Leesburg Begin June 27
Detour in place during road repairs


LEESBURG – Old Waterford Road (Route 698) between Fairview Street and Hurley Lane (Route 703) will be closed on weekdays for a month beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 27 for road repairs, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The closures will occur Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day through Wednesday, July 27. Those needing to reach properties along Old Waterford Road will have access.

Through traffic will be detoured via Fairview Street, West Market Street (Route 7 Business), Route 7 (Harry Byrd Highway), Route 9 (Charles Town Pike), Clarkes Gap Road (Route 662) and Hurley Lane back to Old Waterford Road. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signs.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones. Be alert to new traffic patterns and limit distractions.
