Eastbound Route 7 Right-Turn Lane Shift at Baron Cameron Avenue in Reston Begins on or about Nov. 29
Use alternate access from Baron Cameron Avenue to businesses during construction

RESTON - On or about Tuesday, Nov. 29, the right-turn lane from eastbound Route 7 to Baron Cameron Avenue will shift to the north (toward the median).

Between Nov. 29 and Thursday, Dec. 1, crews will construct a temporary entrance from eastbound Route 7 to the Sunoco-Baron Cameron Service Center and Three Cees Car Wash & Quick Lube. Access to the businesses will be provided via Baron Cameron Avenue during this time.

See the map below for details.

On or about Dec. 1, upon completion of the temporary entrance from eastbound Route 7 to the businesses at Baron Cameron Avenue, two entrances will be open for use. See the map below for details.

All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. All residences, businesses and other public facilities will remain accessible.

For information on intersection movements at the completion of construction along Route 7, please see the interactive map on the project website.

Please note crews are only working within the VDOT right of way and where rights have been acquired from property owners (read more).

As a reminder, the Route 7 speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles per hour in active work zones between Reston Avenue and Jarrett Valley Drive, and Virginia law prohibits the use of handheld cell phones while driving through an active work zone.

Please use caution and be alert to work zone signs, potential flagger or police direction, and watch for traffic shifts. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering or exiting the road.
