Traffic Stoppages Planned on Route 50 East and West Near I-66 for Utility Work on Tuesday Night, Feb. 16
UPDATE (2/26/21): This work will be done Tuesday, March 2: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages are planned for Route 50 East and West just north of I-66 in Fairfax on Tuesday, February 16, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., so that Dominion Energy can work on overhead wires across Route 50. Traffic on Route 50 will be stopped in both directions simultaneously four times for up to 20 minutes each to accommodate the work, which is needed for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
State Police will be on hand to aid in the coordination of the stoppages. Drivers should expect delays in the area during this work.
All work is weather dependent. Work will be rescheduled for Wednesday night, February 17, if inclement conditions occur.
