Pipe Replacement along Shenandoah Road in Fort Hunt March 22-26
Drivers asked to follow posted detours during daily road closures
FORT HUNT – Shenandoah Road between Fort Hunt Road (Route 629) and Westmoreland Road will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting, Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day to replace stormwater pipes, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Those needing to reach properties along Shenandoah Road will have access; however, traffic will not be able to turn from Fort Hunt Road onto Shenandoah Road, nor access Fort Hunt Road directly from Shenandoah Road.
Through traffic will be detoured via two routes:
- Fort Hunt Road and Alexandria Avenue back to Shenandoah Road
- Fort Hunt Road, Wellington Road, Washington Avenue and Westmoreland Road back to Shenandoah Road
