Pipe Installation along Monroe Street at West Ox Road in Herndon Oct. 18-21
Drivers asked to follow posted detour during daytime road closures

HERNDON – Monroe Street (Route 666) between West Ox Road (Route 608) and Meadow Hall Drive will be closed, weather permitting, Monday, Oct. 18 through Thursday, Oct. 21 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day to install a stormwater pipe, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Monroe Street traffic will be detoured via Meadow Hall Drive, New Carson Drive and Monterey Estates Drive back to West Ox Road.

During the Monroe Street closures, West Ox Road will remain open to traffic in both directions and the shared-use path along northbound Monroe Street will remain open to bicyclists and pedestrians.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones. Be alert to new traffic patterns and limit distractions.
