Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple Interchanges Next Week for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at multiple interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Monday, May 3, and Tuesday, May 4
Ramp from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night for paving work. Traffic on northbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn left at Balls Ford Road, travel about two miles, turn right onto Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway), then follow signs to I-66 West. Traffic on southbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn right on to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South, and then follow signs to I-66 West.
Tuesday night, May 4, and Wednesday night, May 5
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right for Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Thursday night, May 6, and Friday night, May 7
I-66 West to Route 28 North and Braddock Road
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 North, stay to the right Route 28 North. Drivers traveling to Braddock Road/Walney Road will then stay to the left and follow signs to the Braddock Road/Walney Road exit.
Thursday night, May 6, through Saturday night, May 8
Ramp from Nutley Street and Virginia Center Boulevard to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for paving work. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East, exit to I-495 North, exit to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay right to I-495 South, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
Thursday night, May 6, through Saturday night, May 8
Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for paving work. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit for Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Station, stay to the right on to Country Creek Road, continue onto Virginia Center Boulevard, then at the traffic signal turn left to Nutley Street North or turn right to Nutley Street South.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
