Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges, November 29 – December 4, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Monday night, November 29, through Friday night, December 3
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for noise wall installation. Traffic will be directed to continue south, exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Monday night, November 29, through Friday night, December 3
Ramp from Braddock Road East and West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for noise wall installation. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Monday night, November 29, through Friday night, December 3
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for barrier and drainage ditch work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west, exit to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Monday night, November 29
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for survey work. Traffic will be directed farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left to Nutley Street South and turn left at the traffic signal onto southbound Nutley Street, then stay to the right to the new loop ramp to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.
Wednesday night, December 1
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for cantilever installation. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west, exit to Route 29 North, turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, stay to the right to I-66 East, then exit to Route 234 Business.
Wednesday night, December 1
Ramp from Route 234 Business North/South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for cantilever installation. Traffic on northbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn left at Balls Ford Road, travel about two miles, turn right onto Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North, then follow signs to I-66 West. Traffic on southbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn right onto Route 29 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday night, December 1, through Friday night, December 3
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North and Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to exit to Route 28 South, continue south to Route 29 North, stay to the right to Route 28 North. Traffic traveling to Braddock Road/Walney Road will then stay to the left to use the left exit to Braddock Road/Walney Road.
Wednesday night, December 1, through Friday night, December 3
Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for crews to reset barrier. Traffic will be directed to continue north, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left-most left turn lane at the traffic signal at Virginia Center Boulevard onto Nutley Street South, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday night, December 1, and Thursday night, December 2
Ramp from Nutley Street South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for crews to reset barrier. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West (prior to the ramp closure), exit to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road), stay to the left to Route 123 South and turn left at the traffic signal, then stay to the left and turn left at the next traffic signal to I-66 East.
