Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, June 6-12, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Sunday night, June 6, through Saturday night, June 12
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Monday night, June 7; Tuesday night, June 8; and Wednesday, June 9, through Saturday, June 12
Ramp from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. Monday and Tuesday nights, and from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday nights for paving. Traffic on northbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn left at Balls Ford Road, travel about two miles, turn right onto Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North, then follow signs to I-66 West. Traffic on southbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn right on to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South, and then follow signs to I-66 West.

Monday night, June 7, through Friday night, June 11
Ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed Monday through Thursday nights from midnight to 4 a.m., and Friday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Traffic on southbound Route 123 will be directed to I-66 West, then take the exit for Route 50 East, stay to the left and take the exit to I-66 East. Traffic on northbound Route 123 will be directed to continue north, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to I-66 West, then take the exit to Route 50 East, stay to the left and take the exit to I-66 East.

Thursday night, June 10, through Saturday night, June 12
Ramp from Route 234 Business South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed Thursday night from midnight to 4 a.m., and Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for a traffic switch. Traffic will be directed farther south, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left turn lane at the traffic signal at Balls Ford Road, then follow signs to I-66 East.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
