Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, July 6 – July 11, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Tuesday night, July 6, through Friday night, July 9
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. (until 5 a.m. Saturday) each night for drainage work. Traffic will continue farther south to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, stay to the right to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Tuesday night, July 6, through Saturday night, July 10
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue east, exit to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left turn at the traffic signal on to Nutley Street North, then stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to I-66 West, then exit to Route 123 North and South.  

Tuesday night, July 6, through Saturday night, July 10
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville 
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night. Traffic will be directed to exit to Braddock Road/Walney Road (prior to the closure), turn left at the traffic signal at the top of the ramp, stay to the left and turn left to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29.

Thursday night, July 8, through Saturday night, July 10
Ramp from Route 123 North and South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West, exit to Route 50 East, stay to the left, and then follow signs to I-66 East.

Thursday night, July 8, through Saturday night, July 10
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 123 North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each nigh­t for a lane shift on the ramp. Traffic will be directed to continue west to the exit to Route 50 East, follow signs to I-66 East, and then exit to Route 123 North and South.

Thursday night, July 8, through Saturday night, July 10
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for bridge work. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East. 

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
