Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, July 18-24, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Sunday night, July 18, through Tuesday night, July 20
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road South), stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday night, July 19, through Friday night, July 23
Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for drainage work. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit to Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Station, stay to the right on to Country Creek Road, continue on to Virginia Center Boulevard, then turn left or right at the traffic signal to go north or south on Nutley Street.
Wednesday, July 21, through Friday, July 23
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road, then follow signs to I-66 West. Additionally, the ramp to Stringfellow Road will be inaccessible to drivers entering I-66 West from Route 50 East beginning at 11 p.m., Thursday, July 22, through 6 a.m., Sunday, July 25.
Wednesday night, June 21, through Friday night, June 23
Ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North and South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. Traffic on southbound Route 123 will be directed to I-66 West, exit to Route 50 East, stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 East. Traffic on northbound Route 123 will be directed to continue north, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to I-66 West, then exit to Route 50 East, stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 East.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
