Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, July 11-17, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Monday night, July 12, through Friday night, July 16
Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for drainage work. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit for Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Station, stay to the right on to Country Creek Road, continue on to Virginia Center Boulevard, then turn left or right at the traffic signal to go north or south on Nutley Street.
Sunday, July 11, and Wednesday, July 14
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Traffic will be detoured farther west to West Ox Road South (Route 608), stay to the right for Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Wednesday night, July 14
Ramps from I-66 West to Route 286 North and South
The ramps will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue west to the Route 28 interchange, take the exit to Braddock Road/Walney Road, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal at the top of the ramp, then stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to Route 28 South, take the exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, stay to the right and exit to Route 28 North, exit to I-66 East, and then follow signs to Route 286 North or South.
Wednesday, July 14
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Thursday, July 15
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
