Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges throughout the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project corridor.
Details include:
Tuesday, February 16, through Thursday, February 18
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed between midnight and 4 a.m. nightly for crews to adjust construction entrances. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West, then continue west to the exit for Route 29 in Centreville.
Monday, February 15, through Friday, February 19
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North.
Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North, then follow signs to the Braddock Road/Walney Road left exit.
Thursday, February 18
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. to shift barrier. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Nutley Street North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Nutley Street North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 123 North or South.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
