Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, August 8-14, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Tuesday night, August 10, and Thursday night, August 12
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for fence work. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal on to Route 29 North, travel about one mile, then follow signs to Route 28 North.
Tuesday night, August 10, through Saturday night, August 14
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 50 West
The ramp will be closed Tuesday through Thursday nights from midnight to 4 a.m., and Friday and Saturday nights from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) South, stay to the right to I-66 East, and then follow signs to Route 50 West.
Tuesday night, August 10, through Friday night, August 13
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for bridge work. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.
Friday, August 13, and Saturday, August 14
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night for crews to implement a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, exit to Route 29 South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
