UPDATE (8/26/2021): The following ramp closure has been added to tonight's schedule:

Thursday night, August 26: Midnight to 4 a.m.
Ramp from Stringfellow Road to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed for emergency drainage work.

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Monday, August 23, through Saturday, August 28
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed Monday through Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., and Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 28 North, stay to the left to Braddock Road/Walney Road, turn left at the traffic signal on to Braddock Road West, follow signs to turn left to the ramp to I-66 West, then take I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville. (Note: This closure will not occur on night(s) when the detour route is not available due to other closures.)

Monday night, August 23, through Thursday night, August 26
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for fence work. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway), turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 North, travel about one mile, then follow signs to Route 28 North.

Monday, August 23, through Saturday, August 28
Ramp from I-66 East to Nutley Street North and South
The ramp will be closed Monday through Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., and Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Traffic will be directed farther east to I-495 North, travel to the exit to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then exit to I-66 West and continue west to Nutley Street. (Note: This closure will not occur on night(s) when the detour route is not available due to other closures.)

Tuesday, August 24, and Wednesday, August 25
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for crane demobilization. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West, continue to the exit to Nutley Street and stay to the left, turn left onto Nutley Street South, then stay to the left to turn left at the next traffic signal to reach I-66 East.

Wednesday night, August 25
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for crews to implement a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 50 East, stay to the left and use the left-most turn lane to make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Waples Mill Road to access Route 50 West.

Friday, August 27 (backup will be Saturday night, August 28) 
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville  
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. for drainage work. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 29. 

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
