Traffic Stoppages Planned on I-66 East and West Near Cedar Lane During Overnight Hours Next Week for Overhead Utility Work

FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages and lane closures are planned for I-66 East and West near Vienna during overnight hours of Tuesday, March 3, Friday, March 5, and Saturday, March 6, so that an overhead utility line near Cedar Lane can be relocated. Work is needed for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

  • Three left lanes closed on I-66 West between I-495 and Cedar Lane between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. (9 a.m. weekends)
  • Three left lanes closed on I-66 East between Route 123 and Cedar Lane between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. (9 a.m. weekends)
  • Between midnight and 4 a.m., there will be multiple traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes each in both directions of I-66 simultaneously

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
