Traffic Stoppages, Lane Closures On I-66 East Near Route 50 Next Week For Overhead Sign Removal
FAIRFAX – Three lanes will be closed on eastbound I-66 between Monument Drive and Waples Mill Road between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, and Thursday, April 30, for overhead sign gantry removal for work related to the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
