FAIRFAX – Nightly closures of the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North are scheduled to begin Sunday night, May 10, and run through June 14. Overnight ramp work for next week also includes nightly closures of the ramp from I-66 East to the 495 Express Lanes North and South on Tuesday and Wednesday. The closures are needed so that crews can perform overhead bridge work and other construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Sunday, May 10, through Sunday, June 14
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

• The ramp from eastbound I-66 to northbound Route 28 will be closed Sunday night, May 10, through Sunday night, June 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North. 

Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13
Ramp from I-66 East to 495 Express Lanes North and South

• The ramp from I-66 East to the northbound and southbound 495 Express Lanes will be closed Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. Traffic will be directed to the I-495 North and South general-purpose lanes.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
