Overnight Ramp Closures For The I-66 Outside The Beltway Project Next Week
Closures planned at Route 234 Business, Route 29 Centreville, and Route 28

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges so that crews can perform various construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Tuesday, May 26
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South

  • The ramp from eastbound I-66 to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South will be closed Tuesday night, May 26, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., for drainage installation. Traffic will be directed to exit prior to the closure at Exit 44 (Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway)) South, turn left on to Balls Ford Road to Route 234 Business.

Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29
Ramp from Route 234 Business South to I-66 East

  • The spur ramp from southbound Route 234 Business to eastbound I-66 will be closed nightly Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for drainage installation. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, stay to the left and make a U-turn at the traffic signal for Balls Ford Road, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29
Ramp from Route 29 North and South Centreville to I-66 East

  • The ramp from Route 29 North and South in Centreville to eastbound I-66 will be closed Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, from midnight to 4 a.m. nightly for drainage work. Traffic will be directed to Route 28 North to access I-66 East. 

Thursday, May 28
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North

  • The ramp from westbound I-66 to northbound Route 28 will be closed Thursday night, May 28, from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for sign removal. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, stay to the right for Route 29 North, continue to stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
