Overnight Ramp Closures For The I-66 Outside The Beltway Project Next Week
Closures planned at Route 234 Business, Route 28, and Route 243 Interchanges
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges, so that crews can perform various construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Monday, May 18
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South
- The ramp from eastbound I-66 to Route 234 Business North and South will be closed Monday night, May 18, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for drainage installation. Traffic will be directed prior to the closure to use Exit 44 (Route 234 Bypass/Prince William Parkway), then turn left on to Balls Ford Road to reach Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North or South.
Thursday, May 21
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
- The ramp from westbound I-66 to northbound Route 28 will be closed Thursday night, May 21, from midnight to 4 a.m. for sign removal. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, stay to the right for Route 29 North, continue to stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North.
Thursday, May 21
Ramp from Route 243 (Nutley Street) South to I-66 West
- The ramp from southbound Route 243 (Nutley Street) to westbound I-66 will be closed Thursday night, May 21, from midnight to 4 a.m. to implement a lane shift on Nutley Street. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, stay to the right for Nutley Street North, and then continue to stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
