Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges This Weekend and Next Week for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours this weekend and next week at several I-66 interchanges for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Friday, November 20, through Monday, November 23
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North
The ramp will be closed starting at 10 p.m. Friday night, November 20, through 5 a.m. Monday, November 23, for paving work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 234 Business South, continue to the intersection with Balls Ford Road, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left-most left turn lane at the traffic signal on to Route 234 Business North.
Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 234 (Prince William Parkway)
The ramp will be closed Friday night, November 20, from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m., and Saturday night, November 21, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) South, turn right on to Balls Ford Road, then travel about two miles west to Route 234.
Sunday, November 22, through Tuesday, November 24
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville
The ramp will be closed Sunday night, November 22, between midnight and 4 a.m., and Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. nightly for striping. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 29.
Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24
Ramp from Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed nightly Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. for striping. Traffic on northbound Route 29 will be directed to continue farther north to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East. Traffic on southbound Route 29 will be directed to make a U-turn at Stone Road then join the northbound detour route to Route 28 North, and follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed nightly Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, and then follow signs to Route 28 North.
Sunday, November 22, through Tuesday, November 24
Ramp from 495 Express Lanes North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed nightly Sunday, November 22, through Tuesday, November 24, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East, then to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Message boards on I-66 are providing advance notice of lane closures and traffic stoppages.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
