Overnight Lane Closures, Traffic Stoppages on I-66 East and West in Vienna Next Week for Continued Bridge Work at Cedar Lane
FAIRFAX – I-66 East and West in Vienna will have reduced travel lanes and multiple stoppages of up to 20 minutes during overnight hours Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18, as overhead bridge work continues for the new Cedar Lane Bridge. Work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Drivers should expect delays if traveling in this area during these times and should consider using alternate routes.
Details include:
Monday, September 14, and Tuesday, September 15
I-66 East between Nutley Street and Cedar Lane
- I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane approaching Cedar Lane, Monday, September 14, and Tuesday, September 15, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for crews to mobilize and remove equipment.
- Drivers should expect periodic traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. nightly.
- All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.
Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18
I-66 West between Gallows Road and Cedar Lane
- I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane approaching Cedar Lane Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for crews to perform overhead bridge work.
- Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. nightly.
- All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
