Overnight Lane Closures, Periodic Stoppages on I-66 East and West Between Nutley Street and Route 50 Area for Overhead Gantry Removal
FAIRFAX - Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages as crews remove overhead gantries on I-66 West between Nutley Street and Jermantown Road, and on I-66 East between Waples Mill Road and Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) next week as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Tuesday, May 26
I-66 West between Nutley Street and Jermantown Road
- Three lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry removal.
Wednesday, May 27
I-66 East between Waples Mill Road and Route 123
- Three lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry removal.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
