FAIRFAX - Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages next week for overhead sign gantry removal on I-66 West between Route 28 and Stringfellow Road, and on I-66 East between Groveton Road and Route 234 Business.

Details include:

Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30
I-66 East between Groveton Road and Route 234 Business (Sudley Road)

• Eastbound I-66 will be reduced to a single travel lane nightly between Groveton Road and Route 234 Business between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
• Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry removal.

Tuesday, June 30, and Wednesday, July 1
I-66 West between Stringfellow Road and Route 28

• Three lanes on westbound I-66 between Stringfellow Road and Route 28 will be closed nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
• Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry removal.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.

The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
