The Gallows Road Bridge over I-66 is being reconstructed as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. The bridge is being lengthened, widened, raised, and shifted to the east to accommodate the new Express Lanes and provide room for future improvements along Gallows Road. Lane closures and stoppages on and around Gallows Road at I-66 will allow crews to install bridge beams over the Dunn-Loring/Merrifield Metrorail Station platform and I-66 West, leveraging the current Metrorail Orange Line closure. The beam lifts must be done when the Orange Line is closed, as the new bridge is located directly above the Metrorail platform.
