Daytime Lane Closures on I-495 Near George Washington Memorial Parkway Tomorrow and Next Week
FAIRFAX – Single lane closures are scheduled to occur along northbound and southbound I-495 between the George Washington Memorial Parkway interchange and the vicinity of the American Legion Bridge during daytime hours on Friday, May 29, and the week of May 31.
Lane closures are planned between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. as follows:
I-495 Southbound (Outer Loop):
- Friday, May 29: Left lane and left shoulder and right lane and right shoulder (both sides will not be closed at the same time)
- Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5: Right lane and right shoulder
I-495 Northbound (Inner Loop):
- Friday, May 29: Right lane and right shoulder
- Monday, June 1: Left lane and left shoulder
Lane closure times will be adjusted to account for traffic volumes, if necessary. Work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
Lane closures are needed for crews to complete geotechnical soil boring work.
