Route 110 and George Washington Memorial Parkway Ramp Stoppages Overnight in Arlington July 1-2, 5-6
Closures up to 20 minutes each as I-66 bridge rehabilitation nears completion
ROSSLYN – Drivers can expect overnight stoppages next week on the ramp from northbound Route 110 to westbound I-66 and the ramp from the southbound George Washington Memorial Parkway to eastbound I-66/westbound Route for work related to the rehabilitation of the I-66 overpass, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Crews are removing concrete barriers in the work zone as the project nears final detail work this summer.
Stoppages up to 20 minutes each will occur nightly between midnight and 4 a.m. according to the following schedule:
- Northbound Route 110 ramp to westbound I-66: Monday night, July 1, Friday night, July 5 and Saturday night, July 6
- Southbound George Washington Memorial Parkway ramp to eastbound I-66/westbound Route 50: Tuesday night, July 2
There will be no work on either ramp Wednesday night, July 3 or Thursday night, July 4.
Drivers should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes.
Single-lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-66 can be expected over the next few weeks due to final detail work. The $5.7 million project to rehabilitate the I-66 bridge over Route 110 and George Washington Memorial Parkway ramps is expected to be complete later this summer.
