Overnight Traffic Stoppages This Weekend on I-66 Near Centreville for Utility Relocation Work
FAIRFAX – Overhead utility relocation at the Route 28 and I-66 Interchange requires multiple 20-minute traffic stoppages of I-66 in both directions during overnight hours this weekend. The right lane of I-66 East will close at 9 p.m. each night. Power lines are being relocated in conjunction with the Transform 66 Project.
Details include:
Friday, Jan. 3, and Saturday, Jan. 4
The right lane of I-66 East will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Multiple stoppages of up to 20 minutes for all traffic lanes are planned between midnight and 5 a.m.
Sunday, Jan. 5
The right lane of I-66 East will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Multiple stoppages of up to 20 minutes for all traffic lanes are planned between midnight and 4 a.m.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
