FAIRFAX, Va. - Overhead gantry removal will require overnight lane closures and traffic stoppages on I-66 East and West between I-495 and Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) this Friday, February 1, and Saturday, February 2.   

Details include:

Friday, February 1: I-66 East and West Between Blake Lane and I-495

• Three left lanes will be closed on eastbound and westbound I-66 between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
• There will be periodic traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 5 a.m. in both directions I-66 between Nutley Street and Cedar Lane.

Saturday, February 2: I-66 East and West Between Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) and Gallows Road

• Three left lanes will be closed on eastbound and westbound I-66 between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
• There will be periodic traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 5 a.m. in both directions I-66 between Vaden Drive and Cedar Lane.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.

The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
