Lane Closures, Periodic Stoppages On I-66 This Week For Overhead Sign Removal
FAIRFAX - Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages on westbound I-66 on Tuesday, Nov. 12 (Centreville area), and Friday, Nov. 15 (Fairfax area), for crews to remove overhead sign gantries.
Details include:
Tuesday, Nov. 12: Westbound I-66 Between Stringfellow Road and Route 29 Centreville
- The three right lanes will be closed between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. to remove overhead sign gantry supports.
Friday, Nov. 15: Westbound I-66 Between Jermantown Road and Monument Drive
- The three right lanes will be closed between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. to remove overhead sign gantry supports.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
