Lane Closures, Periodic Stoppages On I-66 East and West Next Week For Overhead Sign Removal
FAIRFAX - Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages on I-66 near Fairfax, Centreville, and Manassas next week due to overhead gantry removal.
Details include:
Monday, Dec. 9: I-66 West between Route 123 and Route 50
- Three right lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry support removal.
Tuesday, Dec. 10: I-66 West between Compton Road and Bull Run Drive
- Three right lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry support removal.
Wednesday, Dec. 11: I-66 East between Compton Road and Route 28
- Three right lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry support removal.
Thursday, Dec. 12: I-66 East between Compton Road and Route 29 Centreville
- Three right lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry support removal.
Friday, Dec. 13: I-66 East between Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) and Bull Run Rest Area
- Three right lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for overhead gantry support removal.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
