UPCOMING BRIDGE REPAIR ON ROUTE 726 (MT. ATHOS RD.) TO AFFECT TRAFFIC FOR SEVERAL WEEKS

Lynchburg, Va. – On Monday, March 7, 2022, traffic on Route 726 (Mt. Athos Road) will be reduced to one lane over Beaver Creek due to needed bridge repairs. Crews will establish a single, 11-foot wide lane, with a temporary traffic barrier wall and temporary signal lights. This repair work is expected to last approximately 90 days.
Due to the high volume of vehicles that travel on Route 726 (Mt. Athos Road) daily, significant traffic backups can be expected. If possible, motorists are encouraged to find an alternate path to their destination.
