JOINT AGENCY TRAFFIC INCIDENT MANAGEMENT AND RESPONSE EVENT SET
Public invited to learn more roles of agencies, equipment used
LYNCHBURG —The public is invited to join the Virginia State Police (VSP) , City of Lynchburg Fire and Rescue, as well as police, representatives from the towing and recovery industry and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for an event to promote safety and National Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Awareness Week.
The event will be held:
Thursday, November 7
10 am to 2 pm
Thomas Road Baptist Church
Parking Lot 6 (near the Department of Emergency Services)
Candlers Mountain Road, Lynchburg
Representatives from each of the safety partners will be available to talk about their role in traffic incident management and what motorists can do to help us, as well as themselves to keep traffic moving efficiently and safely during incidents. Equipment and informational material will be on hand.
TIM Week is November 10-16, 2019. The goal of the week “is to reach out to every responder, and to every driver, and to every passenger, to make it more clear that every person has a role to play” in safe incident response.
