ROUTE 701 (JENKINS BRIDGE ROAD) BRIDGE OVER HOLDENS CREEK REOPENS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
Detour has been lifted following extensive bridge updates

ACCOMACK COUNTY —As of July 21, Route 701 (Jenkins Bridge Road) over Holdens Creek in Temperanceville is open to traffic following extensive bridge work by Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its contractor crews.  

Originally anticipated to be complete in August, the project included the replacement of the bridge superstructure, consisting of new steel beams, a new wooden deck and a guardrail system.
