PORTION OF ROUTE 619 TO CLOSE FOR BRIDGE RAIL REPAIR PROJECT
Closure with signed detour to begin as early as Oct. 25

GREENSVILLE COUNTY – A Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) project to repair bridge rails on the Route 619 (Purdy Road) bridge over the Nottoway River is estimated to begin as early as Oct. 25, requiring Route 619 (Purdy Road) to be closed in both directions to through traffic only between Route 651 (Nottoway Road) and Route 656 (Hunt Road). Access will be maintained to all private entrances within this corridor.
During this closure, the existing bridge rail will be replaced. This work is expected to continue through late 2021. Signed detours will be in place directing traffic as follows: 
From Route 619 (Purdy Road) north: 
  • Turn right onto Route 651 (Nottoway Road) 
  • Turn left onto Route 608 (Wyatts Mill Road) 
  • Turn left onto Route 610 (Allen Road) 
  • Turn left onto Route 630 (River Road) 
  • Turn left onto Route 656 (Hunt Road) to continue to Route 619 (Walkers Mill Road) in Sussex County
From Route 619 (Purdy Road) south:
  • Turn left onto Route 656 (Hunt Road) 
  • Turn right on Route 630 (River Road) 
  • Turn right on Route 610 (Allen Road) 
  • Turn right on Route 608 (Wyatts Mill Road) to continue to Route 619 (Purdy Road) or turn right onto Route 651 (Nottoway Road) to Route 619 (Purdy Road)
