DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD ON PROPOSED PLANS FOR SKIFFES CREEK CONNECTOR PROJECT
Public invited to learn more about plans for improved connectivity between Route 60 and Route 143 in James City County
JAMES CITY COUNTY – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing on Wednesday, May 15, to share and receive feedback on the proposed design plans for a new roadway connector that would form a local connection between U.S. Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) and State Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) in James City County.

The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review the project exhibits on display, meet with VDOT representatives and provide input. This will be an open-house format meeting with no formal presentation. Media are invited to attend.
Citizens may provide oral and written comments at the hearing or submit them by May 25, 2019, to John Harman, VDOT, 7511 Burbage Drive, Suffolk, VA 23435 or via email to JohnG.Harman@VDOT.Virginia.gov. Please reference “Skiffes Creek Connector Project Comment” in the subject line.
The purpose of the Skiffes Creek Connector is to provide strategic connectivity between U.S. Route 60 and State Route 143 in a manner that improves safety, emergency evacuation, and the movement of goods along the two primary roadways.
