ROUTE 17 NORTHBOUND BRIDGE OVER DRAGON RUN IN GLOUCESTER COUNTY CLOSED AFTER CRASH
Route 17 reduced to one northbound lane and one southbound lane until bridge repairs are complete

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has closed the Route 17 northbound bridge over Dragon Run in Gloucester County after an early morning crash caused significant damage to the structure.

Route 17 near Dragon Drive is reduced to one northbound lane and one southbound lane.

Crews have set up a work zone to divert a single lane of northbound traffic to a median crossover then to southbound Route 17 over the Dragon Run bridge to a second median crossover back to northbound Route 17.

The Route 17 northbound bridge will remain closed until repairs are completed.

There is no estimated completion date at this time.

Travelers on Route 17 in the area may experience delays.
