I-95 SOUTHBOUND CLOSED IN CAROLINE
All southbound lanes closed at mile marker 101 for a vehicle crash; All traffic detoured at exit 104 (Carmel Church)
UPDATE (1:40 a.m.) -- Two lanes of Interstate 95 southbound are now open in Caroline County at mile marker 101. The detour at exit 104 (Carmel Church) has been lifted. Motorists can expect brief delays approaching the scene of an earlier crash, with around a half-mile of congestion reported. A single southbound lane remains closed. Travelers can check 511virginia.org for real-time updates on traffic and the remaining lane closure for this incident.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Interstate 95 southbound is closed in Caroline County at mile marker 101 for a multi-vehicle crash.
Southbound traffic is being detoured at I-95 exit 104 (Carmel Church), where motorists can travel on Route 207 westbound to Route 1 southbound. Motorists can re-enter I-95 southbound at exit 98 (Doswell).
Overhead message boards along I-95 southbound have been updated to alert motorists to the interstate closure and detour.
